Dr. Nikit Abhyankar is an Associate Adjunct Professor at the Goldman School of Public Policy of the University of California, Berkeley and Co-Faculty Director of the India Energy and Climate Center. He is also a Scientist at the Energy Markets and Planning Department at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

He regularly advises national / state governments, regulators, and utilities in multiple countries on designing clean energy policies and programs.

Nikit has a Ph.D. in Environment and Resources from Stanford University.

Nikit has conducted extensive research and policy analysis on a range of key energy issues such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, electricity markets & policy, and industrial energy in United States and key emerging economies such as India, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam. He has led several extremely high impact and comprehensive energy studies such as The 2035 Reports (U.S.), Flexible Resources Initiative (India), China Clean Power, India Energy Independence, Japan 2035 Report etc.  

He has published over 100 journal papers, research reports, and conference papers, and his research has been widely covered in the media.
